ZTE Picks Mindspeed's Comcerto 300xv VoIP Processor for xPON Access Products

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

Mindspeed Technologies, which supplies semiconductor solutions for network infrastructure applications, announced that ZTE Corporation, a provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, has selected Mindspeed’s Comcerto 300xv voice-over-IP or “VoIP” processor for use in ZTE’s (News - Alert) xPON access products.

Chen Hairong, the hardware director of ZTE’s Network department, said Mindspeed’s Comcerto 300xv family of VoIP processors provides the company with a complete VoIP media processing solution with minimal design modifications.

ZTE’s network access products enable service providers in China to deliver voice and high-speed broadband services to subscribers in multi-tenant dwellings and office buildings, company officials said.

By utilizing the Comcerto 300xv, ZTE is able to provide the large-capacity, high-speed, wide-bandwidth and high-quality data, video, voice and multimedia services to enable telecommunications providers to meet the growing demands from customers.

“We are pleased that ZTE continues to adopt Comcerto solutions for their network access equipment products,” Ernest Muhigana, marketing director for carrier VoIP products at Mindspeed, said. “Comcerto devices are available in a broad range of channel densities and common packages, all operating Mindspeed’s field-proven software.”

Comcerto solutions allow customers to develop lower-density systems suited to remotely deploy access equipment, as well as higher-density systems supporting thousands of channels for core network applications. They also offer a common set of industry-leading features and capabilities.

Mindspeed Technologies (News - Alert) offer three types of products: communications convergence processing, high-performance analog and wide area networking communications. Recently Mindspeed Technologies announced that it entered into an agreement for the sale of certain legacy patents for $10 million.
