deltathree Expands VoIP in North America

deltathree (News - Alert) is now offering Canadian inbound phone numbers, otherwise known as direct inward dialing (DID) numbers, to its resellers, service providers and direct-to-consumer clients, the company said.

deltathree is providing 9-1-1 services in Canada in part due to its long-standing partnership with Intrado (News - Alert), the core provider of North America's 9-1-1 emergency communications network. All VoIP

subscribers in the country with the ability to make and receive calls must be equipped with 9-1-1 service, according to the regulations of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission. deltathree is thus able to expand its inbound calling offers to include Canada with this new 9-1-1 capability.

“We are excited to be offering Canadian inbound phone numbers to our clients,” said Yaron Globus, deltathree's vice president of Operations. Globus also emphasized that their initiative with Intrado further defines deltathree’s commitment to serve the North American market with innovative VoIP services that are in accordance to regional regulations.

Globus points out that clients are now empowered with yet another element of deltathree's service with which to grow their businesses and personal relationships.

An early adopter of Intrado's 9-1-1 services in the United States, deltathree is one of the first VoIP service providers to utilize its emergency services in Canada. The company said the new initiative with Intrado emphasizes their ongoing focus on public policy and safety measures when launching new services to its clients.

deltathree's Reseller and Hosted Consumer VoIP Solution clients now have the opportunity to further develop their businesses in North America by utilizing Canadian DID numbers. Customers of joip can now have Canadian inbound phone numbers to stay closer to their friends and family in the country. joip is deltathree's new consumer brand that powers the VoIP services of Panasonic's (News - Alert) new GLOBARANGE hybrid phone.
