Matrix Telecom (News - Alert) Solutions has come out with a new VoIP gateway that can support analog extensions. This offering aims to streamline communications, and the management of those communications, for the companies that employ it.

The new VoIP gateway is being marketed under the name SETU VFX844. Matrix Telecom Solutions has an entire line of gateways under the SETU brand.

This new SETU gateway, which was designed with the international market in mind, supports up to eight VoIP channels, four FXO ports, and four FXS ports. It features caller ID on analog stations, emergency dialing, hotline extension setting, and more.

It uses peer-to-peer and proxy calling between locations such as multiple branch offices. The SETU VFX844 VoIP gateway features centralized and Web-based management. And it employs SRTP and TLS protocols for security.

In other recent VoIP gateway news, beroNet is in a public beta with its new Modular Gateway (News - Alert) 2. The beroNet Modular Gateway 2 is a two in one solution that functions as both a gateway and a session border controller.

This beroNet gateway also can support up to three beroNet modules and any combination of BRI, FXO, FXS, and PRI. It has a microSD slot. It works with beroNet Cloud for managing and tracking remote devices. And it allows for zero-touch configuration.

“I’m looking forward to the feedback we will receive from our customers,” said Thomas Häger, co-founder and lead developer on this project. “With their help we will ensure that beroNet VoIP gateways are the easiest VoIP gateways to install and support.”

A recent report by Future Market Insights forecasts that there will be 204.8 billion corporate consumers of VoIP technology by 2020. That, the firm suggests, will generate $86.20 billion in revenues.

Future Market Insights says that the phone-to-phone segment of the market was worth $15.88 billion and reached 35.9 million subscribers in 2012. That is poised to reach $44.78 billion and 116.5 million subscribers in 2019.

Computer-to-phone communications during the same timeframes were $27.35 million in revenue and 58.3 million in subscribers, and are forecast to reach $56.56 billion in revenue and 128.3 million subscribers.

As for the computer-to-computer segment of the VoIP services market, that had 57.4 million subscribers and generated $20.74 billion in revenues globally in 2012. But Future Market Insights says that, by 2019, that segment is likely to include 72.2 million subscribers and account for $24.74 billion in revenue.

In 2012 there were an estimated 52.7 million VoIP subscribers globally, generating $20.70 in revenues. The phone-to-phone VoIP segment is the fastest growing segment of this realm, continuing its rapid rise through at least 2019, according to Future Market Insights.

These comparisons show how much the VoIP market has grown and, if the predictions prove true, it will continue to do so. Companies like beroNet are leading the way in terms of innovation, with Matrix Telecom Solutions and others adding valuable contributions as well.
