VoIP Gateways Enable the Mobile Workforce

It’s no secret that the mobile workforce is becoming more and more popular over the years. Ten years ago, only a select few were working from home or remotely on a regular basis. Now, employees from all industries are being allowed to work wherever they want, and the results have been positive so far.

Enabling employees to be part of the mobile workforce allows them to have flexible schedules; they can work when they want, where they want, and on whatever device they want. That flexibility has been nothing but positive for companies; flexibility results in happy employees, happy employees make for more productive employees, and more productive employees create more revenue for the company. It’s a cycle, and the mobile workforce is keeping it going in a positive direction.

Unfortunately, not all companies have the systems in place to enable remote work. Older telephony, for instance, is not the best option if a worker wants to be able to make a quality call while on the road. That’s why more companies have been turning to VoIP as of late. According to research from TMR, a global market intelligence company providing business information reports and services, VoIP may be the answer these companies are looking for. Its new report, “VoIP Services (End-use – Corporate Consumers and Individual Consumers) Market - Global Industry Analysis, Size, Share, Growth, Trends and Forecast, 2014 - 2020” provides in-depth analysis of the market and related sub-segments. One notable prediction is that VoIP will help transform the mobile workforce in the coming years.

There are plenty of benefits to VoIP, but one of its biggest selling points is its low cost. Still, though, some companies do not want to pay to completely replace all their old equipment with VoIP systems. That’s where VoIP gateways come into play. VoIP gateways act as a bridge between old telephony technology and new VoIP tech that allows communications to cross from one form of technology to the other. Even if a company has, say, 100 devices it needs to convert, that can be done through a soft migration by using VoIP gateways.

VoIP gateways can aid in the All-IP transformation companies need to get their mobile workforces off the ground. In the end, using VoIP gateways to enable the mobile workforce will be a positive change for all involved. Employees will be happier and more productive, companies will benefit from that productivity, and customers will be receiving better service due to the advanced technology in place.

The mobile workforce is growing…do you have VoIP gateways in place to help aid in this transition?
