Squire Technologies recently announced that its SVI Media Gateway (News - Alert) Controller (MGC) solution has been selected by Neofone as a replacement for their existing Packet Gateway solution. By deploying the SVI MGC, Neofone will benefit from a future-proof solution for its networking needs. Squire Technologies is a signaling specialist for the telecoms industry.
While explaining that the company provides a range of transit, calling card and other VoIP services and has established an outstanding reputation for quality across the industry, Emil Andoni, CEO of Neofone said, “Originally deployed in 2010, the solution from Squire Technologies works like a Swiss Watch. Reliability is critical to us and our business is built on the service quality we offer. Thanks to Squire Technologies, we have been able to grow our brand and reputation, offering high quality services to all of our customers over a sustained period.”
Since Neofone already had an existing platform of media gateways, it was keen on leveraging as much of the existing infrastructure without having to invest in additional solutions. Because the SVI MGC offering has been designed to be completely interoperable with these as well as other network assets, the result was that Neofone was not required to make any new investments. Instead, the company was able to further enhance performance, while effectively benefiting from a substantial reduction in network CAPEX.
“At Squire Technologies, we take great pride in how our systems perform in the long-term,” said Richard Warren, Sales Manager at Squire Technologies. “We know we deliver superior reliability – and the latest news from Neofone provides a ringing endorsement.”
The SVI MGC not only delivered improved functionality, but also delivered connectivity to a Local Number Portability (LNP) platform offered by a local operator. This allowed Neofone to provide its customers with LNP services.
Emil Andoni also said that they have been using the best in International standards and solutions. He explained that via its collaboration with Squire Technologies, Neofone has been able to leverage technical excellence which not only bears an International reputation, but also delivers the kind of stability and performance Neofone needed for consolidating its business operations. Furthermore, Neofone now has the required capabilities which allow it to provide a variety of new and advanced features.
Effectively replacing the Cisco (News - Alert) PGW, the SVI MGC Media Gateway Controller allows clients to easily interface their VoIP networks to SS7 PSTN based telephone networks. The benefits are that clients can now quickly introduce VoIP services while also effectively extending the life cycle of legacy of third-party Media Gateway solutions.
