Patton (News - Alert) Electronics, a provider of network access products such as VoIP gateways, announced interoperability of its VoIP CPE with BroadWorks Device Management.
BroadWorks delivers complete device management solution for integrating, deploying, and managing access devices. The solution supports access devices including analog terminal adapters (ATAs), IP phones, integrated access devices (IADs) and IP PBX (News - Alert) equipment or any access device that uses XML/HTTP for profile management.
The interoperability allows service providers that use SmartNode VoIP CPE to deliver BroadSoft (News - Alert)-based telecommunications services to deliver fast, automatic and trouble-free service provisioning by ensuring that the end-to-end system is tested for verified interoperability, the company said.
The solution works in different environments such as those requiring a VoIP gateway, router, IAD or enterprise session border router (ESBR). Carrier providers can ensure that SmartNode VoIP CPE can provision and provide BroadSoft hosted unified communications services with full confidence and peace of mind.
When connected, SmartNode CPE contacts BroadSoft over the Internet to retrieve, and then execute the customer-specific configuration. Once the SmartNode has been auto-provisioned, a carrier's customer engineer can remotely activate and adjust any special SmartNode features the customer may desire.
Patton has been a BroadSoft technology partner since 2006.
"Avoiding the dreaded 'truck roll' is often the most important competitiv
e advantage a service provider can have," said Leslie Ferry (News - Alert), marketing VP at BroadSoft, in a statement. "Working together, Patton and BroadSoft knock that opponent out with a one-two punch."
"Broadsoft Device Management provides automated turn-up and simple remote-management while Patton's SmartNode VoIP CPE delivers industry-renowned stability and reliability. SmartNode just keeps working," Ferry added.
In a related development, Patton recently announced three new SmartNode VoIP Integrated Access Devices (IADs) that offer a built-in Ethernet-in-the-First-Mile (EFM) interface for reliable, low-cost WAN access.
