Patton (News - Alert) Electronics, a provider of SmartNode VoIP gateways and routers, announced enhancements to its SmartNode VoIP Integrated Access Devices (IADs).
The SmartNode VoIP IAD Portfolio now comes with a built-in Ethernet-in-the-First-Mile (EFM) interface for reliable and low-cost WAN interface, Patton said.
SmartNode VoIP gateways integrate IP and Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) for enterprise and carrier access networks offering VoIP gateways combined with IP access routing, WAN transmission, and VoIP border router functionality.
Patton’s SmartNode scales from 1 to 2,048 VoIP or fax calls with various telephony interfaces including analog FXS/FXO and digital ISDN BRI, PRI, DS3 and STM-1.
By eliminating the need for an outboard EFM modem, the integrated interface lowers equipment costs, simplifies network architecture and expedites service deployment when deploying IP-based voice, video and data services using SmartNode VoIP IADs. "EFM technology makes old-fashioned copper wire more attractive than ever for delivering high-speed network services," said Ramon Felder (News - Alert), president and CEO of Patton’s Western Europe Operations.
The new products are expected to start shipping next month. Patton has designed the complete set of interoperable EFM devices to provide customers with a single-vendor, one-stop shop for implementing carrier, campus and industrial networks over existing copper cable.
Patton’s portfolio of EFM solutions includes EFM-router, EFM-bridge and EFM-concentrator products. They benefit carrier providers and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) as they enable fast, low-cost provisioning of reliable IP communication services delivered over the ubiquitous copper-wire network-access infrastructure already in the ground.
In another recent announcement Patton formed partnership with 3CX, a developer of the award-winning Windows VoIP PBX (News - Alert) 3CX phone system. Through their strategic partnership, 3CX phone system and Patton’s SmartNode Gateways are certified, interoperable and automatically configurable.
In a similar announcement, Patton formed partnership with Yealink (News - Alert) Network Technology to deliver an advanced suite of innovative solutions for telecommunication markets worldwide.
