As noted last week in the announcement from Patton (News - Alert) Electronics, a Gaithersburg, Md.-based manufacturer of VoIP and Ethernet extender solutions, that it was expanding its presence in Poland and Turkey, the Central and Eastern European markets contain several fast-growing economies that are great opportunities for next generation communications solutions. As further confirmation of the attractiveness of particularly the Turkish market, Patton has follow-up with the signing of an agreement with Istanbul-based system integrator TESAS as value-added distributor for Patton products to provide its solutions across Turkey.
The move is a one both partners agree is key to maximizing their opportunities. TESAS is a significant player in the Turkish market, and was the first company in Turkey to sell VoIP gateways, opening that market to the desirability of employing Internet telephony services and unified communications (UC) systems as business tools to enable companies to keep pace in the global economy.
“The reason we chose Patton,” said Kasim Ozumit, TESAS general manager, “is not only for the company’s highly-flexible, rich-featured, and well-priced product range, but also their unrivaled pre-sales and post-sales support. With all above specialties Patton will greatly strengthen our portfolio of technology products and solutions for customers in Turkey.”
“TESAS and Patton are on the same page,” added Dogan Ozdemir, Patton’s manager of Turkey operations. “This collaboration offers a better overall customer experience for enterprises that want to migrate to IP communications. TESAS contributes its depth of knowledge as a seminal influence in Turkish VoIP markets. Patton brings nearly 30 years global experience providing communications technologies that address real customer needs.”
It should also be noted that later this month, TESAS, in conjunction with Microsoft (News - Alert), will sponsor a private technology workshop for key channel partners on the topic of implementing unified communications using Microsoft Lync with Patton VoIP gateways and snom SIP phones. Patton is Microsoft Lync certified, and the sponsor of the Microsoft Lync Solution News online community.
As emphasis as to why the CEE, and Turkey in particular, Martin Svozil, President and CEO of Patton’s Central and Eastern Europe operations, said “Central and Eastern Europe is the right place to be… Turkey and Poland are the biggest economies in the region.” In fact, Turkey’s economy is expected to grow more than 5 percent annually over the coming 5 years—among the fastest of all OECD members.
For those not familiar with Patton, this is a company you may not know but it does business in 142 countries, provides free gold-standard customer support in at least 10 languages, operates Technical Assistance Centers in Gaithersburg, Berne, Budapest, Lebanon, India, and Vietnam, and it SmartNode VoIP equipment is deployed in 105 countries. In short, it literally spans the globe.
