Patton Electronics has received renewed formal certification from BroadSoft (News - Alert), meaning Patton's award-winning SmartNode VoIP Gateways continue to feature seamless interoperability with the BroadWorks IP communications service platform. This renewal continues a longstanding relationship between the two companies going back to 2006, when BroadSoft first certified Patton's (News - Alert) VoIP gateways.
Now, successful formal testing has validated that SmartNode version R6.T is fully interoperable with the BroadWorks Release 18sp1 SIP interface. For service providers and enterprises, this interoperability certification means that Patton SmartNode gateways offer a "proven and formally validated" solution for seamlessly connecting any business communication system — including legacy fax and PBX (News - Alert) equipment and the latest mobile SIP terminals — to BroadWorks IP-based communication services.
Patton's SmartNode gateways have received several industry awards, such as the 2012 INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award in October 2012. At the time, TMC’s (News - Alert) CEO Rich Tehrani stated, "Year after year, SmartNode innovations drive converged-IP technology forward, providing reliable, high-performance VoIP equipment to clients worldwide."
Indeed, SmartNode gateways are widely recognized for their reliability. They are considered especially effective for IP enabling traditional telephony equipment such as POTS, Key-System, ISDN and DECT (News - Alert) PBXs, handsets and fax machines.
This updated validation offers yet another batch of benefits for service providers and enterprises using SmartNode VoIP media gateways with BroadWorks. For example, customers can be assured that their IP communication setup will work right the first time with no need to troubleshoot interoperability issues.
Furthermore, setups using SmartNode and BroadWorks benefit from streamlined provisioning, expanded subscriber pools, high quality and reliability, and gold-standard customer support provided free of charge by Patton.
BroadWorks is among the industry's top VoIP applications platforms, boasting the widest array of applications from a single platform, including hosted PBX, mobile PBX, business trunking, IP Centrex and residential broadband delivered with carrier-grade interoperability, back-office capabilities, redundancy and scalability.
