Frost & Sullivan Survey Finds magicJack North America Consumers' Choice for Best VoIP Service
Research firm Frost & Sullivan’s recent survey of Voice over the Internet (VoIP) consumers in North America, Consumer Communications Preferences, found that magicJack in the opinion of respondents was rated as the overall best VoIP service provider. magicJack Vocaltec Ltd., which is headquartered in Israel, has garnered more than $100 million in sales after years of “As Seen on TV”-style commercials. The company sells a device that plugs into a USB port on the user's computer (or in the case of magicJack Plus, plugs directly into a router). Users can then make unlimited phone calls to the U.S. and Canada thanks to magicJack partner and telephony service provider, YMAX Corporation. The survey evaluated magicJack along with other competitors on various parameters, including:
magicJack was in lead in all of these categories. "Consumers rate magicJack higher than its major competitors," noted Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert) Senior Analyst Joerg Dittmer. "For overall quality, magicJack is rated 5.8 on a seven-point scale, while its major competitors much lower. In ease of use, billing practices, value and pricing, both magicJack's ratings and leads are also much stronger." According to the survey report, 8 percent of U.S. households that is hooked to VoIP connection use magicJack and this service is also in demand among Canada users as well. magicJack is winning new customers even when there is an increasing integration of conventional services, indicating that customers value its quality and price performance. The growth of majicJack is just one more validation of how companies such as itself and companies like Patton and other VoIP router and gateway companies are helping consumers and service providers hasten the day when VoIP is the dominant means of voice communication not just in North America but globally.
