Matrix Comsec, a manufacturer of VoIP products such as IP-PBX (News - Alert), IP-Servers, and VoIP Gateways and IP-enabled security products such as access control and time and attendance systems, has appointed Vital Communications as a distributor of Matrix SETU VoIP gateways.
Under this partnership, Vital Communications will also distribute Matrix COSEC – an IP based Access Control and Time and Attendance system.

Matrix SETU VoIP gateways offer seamless connectivity between VoIP, GSM and POTS (FXO and FXS) networks. They support flexible and intelligent call routing options to ensure that communication always happens through the most cost effective network.
On VoIP side, the VoIP gateways support SIP based IP interface, allowing it to connect to any existing IP network. On the GSM side, it supports Quad-band GSM operation, allowing it to work with any GSM network. On the POTS side, both FXS and/or FXO interfaces are supported.
Matrix COSEC is an adaptive, modular, scalable and function-rich Time-Attendance and Access Control system designed for Small Office Home Office (SOHO), Small and Medium Businesses (SMB), Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) and large Enterprises (LE).
The solution provides a comprehensive and end-to-end Time-Attendance and Access Control Solution. COSEC Panels manage multiple Door Controllers and acts as a local bridge between the Door Controllers and the application server.

In a related announcement recently Patton (News - Alert) announced its renowned VoIP media gateways are now certified for interoperability with Microsoft Lync having been tested in Microsoft’s Unified Communications (News - Alert) Open Interoperability Program for Lync Communications Server.
