Gamma Telecom is reportedly using NexTone’s Session Border Controller (SBC
), Multi-protocol Session Exchange (MSX), and Real-time Session Manager (RSM) platforms to provide interconnection to British Telecom’s IP Exchange gateway. BT’s gateway represents BT’s Clearinghouse IP
network for the delivery of fixed and mobile voice, video, and multimedia services.
As one of the largest providers of TDM

carriers such as BT. Nextone (News - Alert) explains that this service enables Gamma Telecom customers to leverage VoIP interconnects with the industry’s most advanced service providers and facilitate rapid deployment of VoIP services throughout the UK and internationally.
Andy Rawnsley, chief architect at Gamma Telecom said that Nextone was chosen after evaluating other vendors’ SBC products to build out one of the most advanced VoIP infrastructures in the UK to support their customers. Gamma Telecom views NexTone as providing the best-in-class session management product set in terms of feature functionality, performance interoperability, and reliability.
By providing its complete product line of session routing
, session border control, and real-time session management NexTone provides session-level interconnect to Gamma Telecom’s customers and carrier partners. NexTone’s SBC, MSX, and RSM platforms have been implemented in Gamma Telecom’s network, which enables high levels of security, interoperability and interworking, emergency call support, call admission control and bandwidth control, and real-time session management.
