Littelfuse to Offer Circuit Protection on VoIP Equipment

By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributor

Littelfuse, a circuit protection company, has announced the addition of the SP4061 and SP4062 Series to its expanding TVS Diode Arrays (SPA Family) of low capacitance ESD and surge protection devices.

Specially designed to protect high speed I/O and high speed ports such as 10/100/1000 Ethernet, SP4061 and SP4062 Series are said to be suitable for circuit protection on telecom and networking devices such as Ethernet, consumer premise equipment (CPE), PBX (News - Alert) Systems, VoIP phones, set-top boxes and similar equipment.

Company officials said that thanks to the robust surge protection they provide, equipment manufacturers can comply with regulatory standards such as GR-1089, ITU, and YD/T, extending equipment life and reliability.

The new SP4061 and SP062 Series are RoHS compliant and comply with standards such as ESD, IEC61000-4-2, ±30kV (contact), ±30kV (air); EFT, IEC61000-4-5, 40A (tp=5/50ns); and Lightning, IEC61000-4-5, 20A (tp=8/20s).

Additionally, the SP4061 and SP4062 Series TVS Diode Arrays offer a very low capacitive loading of 3.5 pF with best-in-class clamping performance as a result of their low dynamic resistance – just 0.35 for SP4061 and 0.25 for SP4062.

Company officials said that overall, these features minimize signal degradation and distortion and make these devices ideal for circuit protection in high-speed signal pins.

Littelfuse is a provider of circuit protection products and solutions. The company’s devices protect products in virtually every market that uses electrical energy, from consumer electronics to automobiles to industrial equipment.

Earlier in June, the company released high-amperage SPFJ fuse for 1000VDC photovoltaic circuit protection.

In related news, VoIP equipment provider VoIP Supply knows its customers want the option to expand audio coverage whenever they need it and by adding new Phoenix Audio VoIP Speakerphones to its family of offerings, the company can now accommodate that need.

“VoIP Supply is excited to provide Phoenix Audio’s (News - Alert) latest conferencing solutions,” said Garrett Smith, chief marketing officer at VoIP Supply. “Phoenix Audio speakerphones don’t just look great they also pack a lot of advanced features into a small, portable package that maintains Phoenix Audio’s hallmark user-friendly, plug-and-play philosophy.”
