UniPhyer Touts Voice Quality with IP Telephony

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

As more and more businesses today look to the benefits of IP telephony and UC, it has become vital to have an optimized network that ensures the five 9’s of reliability.

To make this possible, Ontario-based Phybridge (News - Alert) Inc, offers the “UniPhyer,” a VoIP enabler that allows businesses to run IP telephony using power over Ethernet and removing the need to have an optimized converged network.

Not only does the UniPhyer meet the standard recommendation from experts to have a separate physical connection for voice and data, but the UniPhyer makes it possible to achieve this at a fraction of the cost and without any business or network disruptions.

Aside from business benefits like a better return on investment, a graceful migration and convergence options, the UniPhyer also boasts a number of technology benefits.

One technological benefit of the UniPhyer is that signaling and power over Ethernet are offered over a single pair- making back up power management cost effective and simple for users.

In addition to this ease, and reliability, voice quality is another important element for all communications today. Unacceptable or unreliable voice quality can degrade conversations and relationships with clients and customers.

The UniPhyer delivers on the real-time requirements of voice, so quality is never sacrificed.

The company also offers a 100 percent guarantee for customers that states the voice quality on a UniPhyer infrastructure will meet or exceed industry accepted levels.

A large global hotel chain recently used the UniPhyer to deploy IP phones for their corporate administration area, as a test, and was amazed by how the UniPhyer delivered on the promise of Ethernet and PoE over a single pair to reaches of more than 1,200 feet.

The hospitality sector can benefit from IP telephony deployments and voice quality as a way to cut costs and offer hotel guests reliable communications.

According to officials of the hotel chain, the deployment was quick, easy and plug-and-play, and after their positive test results, officials said they are now looking to roll out IP telephony in their guest rooms.
