Reduced Day Two Costs with Phybridge UniPhyer

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

While deployment of new VoIP systems is critical for businesses looking to stay ahead of the competition, there are other issues, even beyond deployment, that must be considered to ensure a reliable, cost-efficient deployment.

Beyond deployment, network traffic – which changes constantly – should be a key focus. Just because a deployment seems ok at one try, can’t always guarantee the quality will remain.

For this reason, businesses should consider day two management requirements to ensure security and quality are being maintained.

PhyBridge’s UniPhyer solution not only takes care of day two management concerns but also greatly reduces costs associated with it.

According to most industry experts, the best way to deploy IP is through a centrally converged network that has separate physical connections for voice and data.

To offer this, the UniPhyer leverages the existing voice infrastructure and creates a physical path for voice, while leaving the data topology in tact.

Not only does this enable an optimized network that ensures that five 9’s of reliability, but the UniPhyer guarantees IP telephony deployment at a fraction of the cost and with no business or network disruptions.

One company, Comstor Singapore, a member of the Westcon Group (News - Alert) of Companies, turned to Phybridge’s UniPhyer as a way to gain the many advantages of UC without having to worry about barriers like network and business disruptions or costly, intensive setup and maintenance.

For their deployment in August 2008, the Phybridge UniPhyer was used to successfully deploy Cisco IP Phones in the Comstor (News - Alert) office using existing telephony wiring and by creating a centrally converged parallel voice network with power over Ethernet.

This not only helped Comstor to gracefully migrate to IP telephony quickly and easily and at a lower cost than traditional deployment, but since the implementation, Phybridge (News - Alert) officials note there have been no business disruption, service calls or management issues at all.

“We are converting some of our digital phones to Cisco (News - Alert) IP phones. And I must say it is really a plug and play experience,” said Michael Long, Solution Sales Manager for Comstor.
