Phybridge Inc. recently announced that it is now a member of the Avaya (News - Alert) DevConnect program, an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology.

That means Phybridge’s (News - Alert) UniPhyer VoIP appliance, aka the “VoIP Enabler,” is now rated Avaya compliant and interoperates with Avaya’s IP PBXs, phones and other equipment.

Specifically, the Phybridge UniPhyer has been compliance-tested for compatibility with Avaya Communication Manager, Avaya IP Office and all current Avaya IP Telephones.

The Phybridge UniPhyer gives businesses a low-cost, risk free and quick migration path to IP telephony. The compact appliance, which comes in 24- and 48-port models, leverages existing telephony cabling to create a parallel network dedicated for voice.

That means companies don’t have to worry about the cost, complexity and potential disruptions associated with converging voice on the company LAN. Quality of Service is accomplished through using a point-to-point topology. What’s more, the appliance delivers Power over Ethernet over existing phone lines: Using a special adapter, you can power up your IP phones, without the need to run additional cabling. These special adapters also allow users to switch to traditional phone service in the event of a network failure or power outage.

As a Gold member of Avaya’s DevConnect (News - Alert) program, Phybridge is eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, N.J.
