The telecommunications technology sector and the film industry seem to be two different worlds, but sometimes these two worlds can meet in an entertaining manner.
PowerNet Global (News - Alert), a provider of advanced voice, data, Session Initiation Protocol and managed communications services to commercial and residential customers, is going to be a part of the new film titled ‘A Strange Brand of Happy.’ The Cincinnati, Ohio-based company has been regularly increasing its range of products and emphasizes unmatched service to its partners and customers.
Filmed under the Rebel Pilgrim Productions banner, the new film is a “uniquely faith-friendly romantic comedy” featuring a number of well-known actors such as Grammy Award winner Rebecca St. James and Academy Award winner Shirley Jones. Joe Boyd, a Teaching Pastor at the Vineyard Community Church in Cincinnati is also a part of the cast of the film. A website description of the film says it is about a bachelor named David who, after losing a job, finds his manipulative ex-boss to be the girl who attracts his interest.
For shooting the scenes of David’s office life, the cast and crew were onsite at PowerNet Global for around two weeks. Various important scenes of the film, including the one in which David begins the journey to find his own self after the loss of his job were filmed on company premises.
Slated to be released September 13, ‘A Strange Brand of Happy’ will be initially screened across 49 cities in the U.S. A variety of movie paraphernalia will be given for bulk purchases of movie tickets, such as art prints, signed movie posters and even the opportunity to be a featured background role in one of Rebel Pilgrim Productions’ upcoming movies.
