RAD Data Communications, a specialist in telecommunications access equipment, today announced its latest product—the LRS-52 SHDSL modem rack.
In a press release, the company described the LRS-52 as “a dedicated chassis providing Symmetric High-Bitrate Digital Subscriber Loop (SHDSL) service within the local loop.”
RAD product line manager Meira Erez noted in a statement that, when used with RAD’s ASMi-52 SHDSL modem (announced last month), the new rack makes possible a variety of configurations for deploying SHDSL and therefore is suitable for a range of different customers.
For example, the two-wire version of the LRS lets users choose between 12 and 24 ports. (A four-wire version allows between six and 12 ports.)
“The high density reduces the price per port,” Erez noted.
Other noteworthy features of the LRS-52 are summarized below.
-
