GIPS Inks Agreement with Saba Software

By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Global IP Solutions (GIPS) has announced that it has signed an agreement with Saba Software, a global provider of strategic human capital management (HCM) software and services.

This newest agreement includes license, support and platform fees.

Saba offers unified solutions for people management, including learning, collaboration, performance, compensation and talent management.

In October, the company released an updated version of its unified people management platform, Saba Enterprise 5.4 SP3. Also, in the same month, the company introduced the latest version of its Web conferencing and collaboration solution, Saba Centra 7.6 SP1.

Earlier this month, Saba announced a reseller partnership with Hewlett-Packard's (News - Alert) Education Services. The agreement with HP, the company believes, enables it to further expand the footprint for its people management solutions.

San Francisco, California-based GIPS is a provider of voice and video processing in IP communications. Company serves application developers, service providers, and network equipment vendors.

In August, GIPS announced that Mail.Ru, a Web portal of the Russian Internet, will use GIPS' VoIP technology in its instant messaging application, Mail.Ru Agent.

In other company news, GIPS recently released a new white paper outlining the complex challenges around desktop video conferencing. The paper, entitled, “Desktop video conferencing: better than you think—ready for every desktop today and in high definition tomorrow,” highlights the role that the company is playing to enable a high-quality end-user experience.
