Virtual Office Blog Offers Good Advice on Phone Service

The name is Phone (News - Alert).com. Company officials say it is 'The New Phone Company,' and they are using an interesting blog to talk up their services and features to help customers choose the right phone service.

Some of the advice and information the blog offers is applicable to anyone – 'Think twice before giving your telephone number as you’re checking out at the local department store.' Tends to cut down on unwanted marketing calls.

'Read waivers carefully before signing. Many times these waivers are written so that the average person can’t understand. They’re betting on people signing without reading.' Many do. This is good advice.

Talking about vanity numbers, like 1-800-FLOWERS, the site said, 'specifically, in a controlled test environment comparing the use of a vanity 800 number against a standard numeric phone number in a radio advertising campaign, 58 percent more calls came in via the vanity phone number. This should not be surprising as Vanity 800 numbers are easier to remember than random sequences. Results show that more callers respond to ads using phone numbers that are customized for your product, brand or business. Benefits extend also to outdoor billboards and print advertising, as well.'

Many posts are, understandably, there to promote the company and its Virtual Office products. Fair enough.

One recent entry, titled 'How Phone.com (News - Alert) Makes Your Move Go A Bit Smoother,' details their service helping you when you move: 'Your number can follow you, even if you decide to end your service with the conventional phone companies and sign on for service from a virtual company.'

Phone.com officials said all you need to do is 'request new phone service from the virtual phone company and your number is reserved automatically in its system. It may take one or two business days for Phone.com to process and ship the adapter. '

The porting, or transfer process 'usually doesn’t take a long time,' they said, 'unless the company losing your business doesn’t cooperate. Phone.com takes care of the number porting with the accurate information you provide them.'
