West Corporation, an Omaha-based provider of communication and network infrastructure services, including call center services, recently announced the international expansion of its Flowroute software-centric carrier capabilities. West acquired acquire Seattle-based Flowroute, a software-centric service provider that supplies communication services and technology for cloud-based products, last year. Thanks to the new expansion, the Flowroute solution can deliver a wider availability of international telephone numbers, including cloud-based, local and toll-free inbound numbers, in over 160 countries around the world.

Calling itself “the world's first software-centric carrier,” Flowroute uses what it calls its HyperNetwork, which meshes multiple networks into a single telecom network to give clients more usability and collaboration ability, as well as flexibility to route around outages and call quality degradation, said the company.

The HyperNetwork was created to help businesses replace multiple vendors and interfaces with a single telecom network, managed through an easy-to-use portal. The Flowroute communication platform enables independent software vendors, value-added resellers and small, medium and large businesses migrate premise-based communication systems to voice over internet protocol (VoIP) as well as customize and automate services with application programming interfaces (APIs).

Clients with an international presence can now leverage the Flowroute suite of cloud-based toll-free and local numbers to more easily provision telephone numbers. International clients will also have access to scalability on-demand, as well as the dynamic capacity of the Flowroute network of networks. These features allow clients with international numbers to more easily accommodate an increased volume of calls with no impact to the quality of service, according to West. When working within the Flowroute Customer Portal, developers are able to scale offerings when building on top of an API, or port, and route phone numbers within seconds.

“We are thrilled to announce this milestone and our growing international presence,” said Chris Malinowski, president of West Telecom Services, in a statement. “For global enterprises, communications have no borders. The ability to easily connect and collaborate with colleagues, partners and customers on an international level is imperative. The rollout of our international phone numbers will provide customers with broader coverage in their international markets.”
