Customer engagement is key to growing a business. You simply cannot deliver on all the things customers are looking for without opening up a dialogue with them. Today, that means adding new channels for businesses and customers to communicate with you. This includes mobile messaging, chat and more.

The growing demand also presents a unique opportunity for mobile operators who can offer Next Gen messaging through RCS for businesses.

Rich Communications Services (RCS) is an online protocol for mobile messaging and engagement that builds on SMS while adding new rich features like group chat, read receipts and secure interactions and provides an extension to a business’s live chat and phone reps.

One recent report by MobileSquared found that brands will be spending $18B on RCS Business Messaging by 2023.

Sinch, a provider of cloud communications for mobile customer engagement is helping mobile operators to add these features and just announced it signed an agreement to partner up with WIT Software which provides software and solutions for mobile operators.

To help businesses successfully shift to next gen customer engagement, Sinch will be deploying WIT technology to speed uptake of next gen messaging through RCS. With its RCS-as-a-Service offering, mobile operators will have a way to roll out RCS to subscribers and enterprise customers as needed.

"Mobile operators around the world are now recognizing that RCS is key to improve the carrier messaging experience, safeguard existing wholesale business, and expand the addressable market for mobile operators. We are delighted that Sinch has chosen our industry leading technology for RCS to drive market uptake of the technology," said Luis Silva, CEO of WIT Software.
