The cloud is carrying communications into the next generation of solutions. But, while the cloud is driving the dawn of the digital era, a vital piece of the transformation occurring is because of something not so shiny and new, APIs. Since Vonage (News - Alert) purchased Nexmo, it’s wasting little time in taking advantage of these building blocks.

This week, Vonage announced a new enterprise service plan that includes unlimited voice in the United States as well as a robust toolkit to empower organizations to build custom applications with minimal need for developer resources.

Some of the plan’s highlights are the following:

Unlimited Voice in the U.S.; delivered via Vonage’s carrier-grade network;

Dedicated consultants to aid in the onboarding process, covering the bases of SDK and API use, in addition to providing solution architecture, configuration and testing of applications;

Each organization is assigned a team member dedicated to the account, responsible for corresponding with customers, providing insight into future product information and sharing client feedback about desired features and such;

An engineering team is tasked with aiding customers to resolve issues, offer insight and analysis as well as reporting.

"One of the greatest challenges for enterprises to adopt cloud communications is that each organization is unique in the amount of resources they need to launch projects," said Eric Le Guiniec, senior vice president of worldwide sales for Nexmo, the Vonage API Platform. "With the new enterprise plan, our unlimited voice offering delivers clear and transparent pricing that is advantageous to enterprises as they scale up usage of the Nexmo Voice API, and our service teams deliver ongoing support for a seamless experience."
