TeleSign is bringing its global SMS messaging to Microsoft (News - Alert) 365 Dynamics for Marketing. As a result, TeleSign’s alerts, invites, notifications, promotional campaigns, reminders, and two-way communications will become available to users within the Dynamics environment.

The TeleSign smart message capability ensures messages are delivered and viewers see them as they are intended to look. This solution can be used to both send and receive global text messages to engage with customers. These TeleSign capabilities are available in more than 200 countries and territories and 87 languages. Plus, TeleSign will shorten long URLs for easier SMS delivery. I alsot provides a free service to help users address Telephone Consumer Protection Act requirements.

“It’s projected that 80 percent of businesses will be communicating with customers via cloud communications by 2020,” says TeleSign CEO Aled Miles. “Microsoft Dynamics 365 customers now have the power of TeleSign SMS to easily add messaging capabilities and connect with their customers the way they want to be engaged.”

In a blog titled “Why SMS Marketing Doesn’t Suck Anymore (And How to Use it to Generate New Revenue),” Neil Patel notes that 58 percent of mobile users checks their phones at least hourly. He adds that text open rates are far greater than email open rates. Yet, he says the majority of “online marketers laugh at the idea of SMS marketing because they think it’s more regulated than email marketing.” However, that’s a myth, he adds.

“You can set up a campaign and have hundreds of clicks within minutes,” according to Patel.

For best results, Patel suggests using words like “I” and “you” to drive engagement. He also encourages marketers to be creative with their SMS messages, and suggests personalizing these messages when possible.
