Touchstone Releases new Cloud VoIP and UC Testing Solutions

In a recent release, Touchstone (News - Alert) Technologies has announced what it’s calling a powerful and affordable solutions suite for customers’ short and long-term testing needs in the Cloud VoIP and Unified Communications (News - Alert) (UC) world. Touchstone’s award-winning voice and unified communications testing solutions is now available in a hosted model, according to the announcement. Whether the need is for active testing or passive monitoring, short-term or long-term, this suite offers a configuration that can meet requirements and budget for customers, Touchstone said.


Intellimarc, Touchstone’s voice and UC monitoring and diagnostic solution, is designed to provide an in-depth view into network performance by providing about 200 metrics covering many KPIs necessary for determining the quality of voice and video sessions. Intellimarc monitors the calls on the network in real time and can be configured to send alerts and alarms based on defined rules. The user interface is designed to allow users to view trends over time, search for specific calls and call details, search for calls by QoS attributes, search through alerts and alarms, manage sites, and identify top talkers and hosts. The company said it can deploy software agents on servers or in virtual machines and run on Linux or Windows, while operating on IPv4 or IPv6 networks.

WinSIP, Touchstone's active testing solution reportedly is capable of generating large volumes of SIP sessions with both voice and video streams. WinSIP’s user interface is designed to customers spend more time testing and less time configuring the tests. SIP messages and call flows can be customized easily using an XML scripting language or, to test standard SIP call flows, by using internal SIP stack. Designed to be ideal for volume testing and feature/function testing, this configuration helps users test from the outside in; providing a real-world view of how the network performs from the caller's perspective.
