3CX has come out with a new version of its unified communications solution.

The 3CX Phone (News - Alert) System V15.5 features:

• the ability to be deployed in a number of ways;

• a new web client;

• improved click to call control;

• more advanced deskphone and smartphone control; and

• one-click call elevation, management of inbound calls, and transfers.

This solution can be deployed on an appliance, in the cloud, or on premises. The appliance model can employ gear from such companies as Gigabyte, Intel (News - Alert), Shuttle, and Zotac. Those that want cloud deployments should know that 3CX now supports most hosting companies, including 1&1.

The new web client on the 3CX Phone System V15.5  has videoconferencing capabilities built into it. That means there’s no need for remote users to download software to participate. And up to 100 participants can involved in these online gatherings.

As far as control, it has been improved through the implementation of the uaCSTA standard for deskphones. As a result, phones can be controlled reliably regardless of the extension location or whether the 3CX system lives in the cloud or on premises. 3CX smartphone clients also can now also be remotely controlled.

The 3CX Phone System V15.5 is optimized for open standards-based browsers including Chrome and Firefox. Speaking of Chrome, the 3CX Click to Call Extension for Google (News - Alert) Chrome allows one click dialing from popular CRM systems and Office 365. Again, this is possible without having to install a plugin.

There’s also an integrated hotel module that works seamlessly with cloud or on- premises installs (Windows and Linux). There’s support for Google Firebase PUSH, which is required for all newer Android (News - Alert) phones. And the solution can pause recording on calls containing credit card information, which provides PCI compliance on that front for financial customers.

3CX delivers its solutions exclusively through channel partners. The company has offices in the U.S., the U.K., Germany, Hong Kong, South Africa, Russia and Australia. And it has 50,000 customers across the globe. That includes Boeing (News - Alert), McDonalds, Harley Davidson, Hugo Boss, Pepsi, Ramada Plaza Antwerp, and Wilson Sporting Goods.
