SMEs to Get Simpler Telephony Access

Any business who's gotten into voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) or private branch exchange (PBX (News - Alert)) services recently knows that there are a lot of choices out there, and it's pretty easy to choose the less-than-optimal choice thanks to the sheer array of options on hand. A new partnership between Turrito Networks and Saicom Voice Services looks to make telephony a bit easier for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to handle.

Turrito Networks turned to Saicom Voice Services, as related by Turrito managing director Brian Timperley, after discovering that many providers offering “scalable” and “robust” VoIP solutions weren't exactly living up to the promise. With Saicom, Turrito has a much better offering afoot, and one that's more likely to live up to the promises of scalability and robustness so often made by other providers.

Since Turrito was already known for its connectivity options, its new connection with Saicom allows it to bring in a complete VoIP and cloud PBX solution alongside any connectivity it may bring in. Turrito's own, “agnostic approach to connectivity, “which Timperley regards as Turrito's “core strength,” means that it's a comparatively simple matter to bring in Saicom's tools and give users that much more value in the connection. Timperley even compares the concept to the over-the-top (OTT) market, not only offering the “last mile” of connection but also some impressive connectivity solutions as well.

Saicom's chief technology officer Greg de Chasteauneuf offered something of an asset, noting that the partnership is one big sign of Turrito's—and Saicom's—plan to offer solutions with the reseller in mind.

Taking two things that would be worthwhile separately and offering them as one package makes a lot of sense; it makes certain decisions easier for business and means a little less time goes into considering some worthwhile points of technology investment. There's also only one company to deal with should something go wrong, which makes it potentially a little easier to fix any problems that might come up. Some might note here that a single-vendor strategy isn't always a great idea—eggs in one basket, after all—but in some cases, it can be an effective proposition.

Turrito and Saicom are offering a worthwhile partnership that should draw plenty of attention. With so many options out there, a simpler version that handles so much at once might prove desirable for potential users and give this duo a leg up in the market.
