The processing power of smartphones is growing at such a rate, chipmaker ARM (News - Alert) told Wired the projection date of when we can go phone-only: 2016. For many individuals there is no need to wait until that time, because smartphones can currently perform almost all of the tasks our PCs can. This has given companies a very powerful tool to get more productivity out of their employees no matter where they are. And the current ecosystem of the workplace now requires collaboration tools to bring everyone together seamlessly on their mobile devices.

As a provider of customized, integrated and managed communication solutions for enterprise customers, MetTel (News - Alert) allows organizations to deploy and manage voice, data, wireless and cloud solutions nationwide. The company has expanded its offerings by adding iMeet, the all-in-one web, video and audio conferencing solution by PGi.

The collaborative solutions PGi provides have been used by 50,000 enterprise customers, including 75 percent of the Fortune 100. This has resulted in the company hosting over 1.2 billion people from 155 countries around the world with close to 300 million virtual meetings.

With iMeet, MetTel will have a proven communication solution that’s customers will be able to integrate into their ecosystem. iMeet is a single application that can be used on desktops, web, mobile or telephony devices with an intuitive user interface that makes the collaborative process simple and effective.

"Our customers are increasingly searching for a trusted advisor to help them evolve beyond traditional, phone-based audio conferencing into the new era of cloud-based business collaboration," said Andoni Economou, COO of MetTel.

The iMeet platform can be integrated with existing video conference room systems and allow virtual meetings in HD video. It also brings together some of the more popular social networking sites so users can learn more about the people they are interacting with to deliver a more personalized conferencing experience.

With iMeet, users can create personalized URLs to make it easy for guests to join meetings. The system lets you host or join a meeting with up to 125 participants by connecting with audio or video using your 3G/4G wireless network or Wi-Fi. The meeting is delivered with a consistent user experience across your desktop, smart phone and tablet.

Conferencing should be as easy as talking on the phone, because it has become such an integral part of how companies are doing business today. The iMeet platform makes it as easy as possible to bring all your colleagues together no matter where they are or what computing device they’re using.
