Today’s business leaders, and quite often their employees, on are constantly on the move.  But this isn’t to say that they’re necessarily traveling for business reasons. Rather, the rise of mobility and feature rich smart devices has allowed them to conduct business from virtually anywhere at any time.  As a result, having combined these mobility services with virtual office technologies, like hosted VoIP and virtual PBX (News - Alert), countless businesses and organizations have been able to establish vibrant brand identities and market presence without the expensive brick and mortar of a standing office.

One popular tool, the Phone.com (News - Alert) Mobile Office app, available for iOS, Android, and Blackberry, allows workers to use their smartphones to access, manage, and place calls with their Phone.com virtual number, essentially transforming your cell phone into a virtual extension.  In other words, users can leverage Phone.com’s advanced call handling and forwarding capabilities to push incoming business calls through to their mobile phones whenever needed.  The app also comes with call handling and scheduling options, allowing users to specify precisely when and what calls get forwarded.

Phone.com recently stopped to take stock of its Mobile Office for iPhone (News - Alert) app by examining some of the feedback provided by its customers.  The company took this feedback and worked with its engineers to produce a number of valuable improvements to the service, revealed late last week.  They include:

  • Improved Address Book- Users can now view a contact’s photos from their speed dial and address book.  Also, easy viewing and searching of contact groups is now possible.
  • Improved Inbox Management- App users now have more options available for managing the contents of their SMS, voicemail and fax inbox, including the ability to delete multiple messages at once.
  • Improved Dialing Functionality- The app now allows users to dial vanity numbers without having to translate letters to digits.  A redial function is also now available.
  • Improved Conference Calling- Users can favorite conference rooms to allow for quick dial-in for future meetings.

These added features are sure to make the virtual office even more of a possibility for businesses across the country.  For more details, and for a free trial featuring 300 minutes of free calls, visit Phone.com.
