Virtual technology is taking us to great heights. Gone are the days where office services were carried out in a typical infrastructure where all employees work together. Today, with the virtual office, anybody can work anywhere for anybody – all thanks to IP technology.

Officescape (News - Alert), for example, is provider of office service and solutions via cloud-based technology. The company’s Office@Home platform is designed to help home-based professionals connect with businesses and non-profit organizations. This platform aims to enable professionals to offer work-at-home services to anyone, anywhere.

Launched in 2009, the Office@Home Platform initially provided Officescape clients with the capability to setup and manage home offices for their own teleworkers. The platform slowly rolled out various additions to service offerings, extending these services to individuals.

Recently, Officescape extended the value of its Office@Home platform to serve remote, virtual assistants, among others.

According to the company, individuals seeking work as virtual assistants can now signup at no cost and be added as an Officescape Virtual Assistant through the Office@Home platform. Signing up provides each virtual assistant with numerous productivity and communications tools to accomplish work more effectively. Virtual assistants will have opportunity to view and bid on projects from Officescape clients and an online platform to manage all aspects of their work, including billing.

In a statement, Officescape said that its clients have been requesting virtual assistant services for a variety of business functions including bookkeeping, desktop publishing, phone answering, data entry and more. The virtual assistant must be proficient in functions corresponding to the project request in order to be considered for the project.

In order to be certified as an Officescape Virtual Assistant, the individual must demonstrate basic project-related skills, an understanding of the expected code of conduct and provide verification of a proper working environment in the remote office space.
