ITEXPO West's Tuesday Evening Tidbits

By Erin Monda, TMCnet Contributor

There’s all kinds of news deluging out of ITEXPO (News - Alert) West today.

Aastra

Aastra, a billion dollar business that has been around for nearly 30 years and sells endpoints, IP PBX (News - Alert) solutions and applications, just made a series of announcements about two new partnerships and a software release.

The software solution, called Aastra (News - Alert) Connector, is a software application that works with any Asterisk SIP phone. It is actually a PC-based application that lets a user click and search directories on his or her PC, and then click on them to initiate a call on the Asterisk-based SIP phone.

Grandstream

But that isn’t the only news today.

Grandstream Networks, a manufacturer of IP voice/video telephony and video surveillance solutions, has announced the newest HD additions to its GXP series of desktop enterprise SIP telephones including the new Grandstream GXP2120 and GXP2100. Grandstream’s new GXP desktop telephones come packed with business productivity features and applications, HD audio quality and broad SIP interoperability with third party SIP platforms and devices.

Grandstream is showcasing all new HD telephone offerings in Booth #307 at ITEXPO West.

Fonality

In other news, Fonality, a provider of cloud-based business phone solutions, will unveil the latest version of its platform, HUD 2010.2, at ITEXPO this week at the Los Angeles Convention Center. A platinum sponsor of ITEXPO, Fonality will demonstrate the cloud software application at booth No. 301.

The software update includes a new version of HUD, the Unified Communications application that connects the phone and desktop and features a single easy-to-use interface that helps to avoid call center and enterprise redundancies.

Tomorrow represents the culmination of what has been a very exciting event.

Keynote speakers Dirk Gates (News - Alert), CEO at Xirrus and Nigel Williams, senior vice president of enterprise sales at Level 3 will be presenting at 10:15 and 10:45 respectively.

Phone.com (News - Alert) will be holding an “Innovation and Excellence” workshop for small offices and we are all looking forward to the grand finale – the 2010 Mustang Giveaway!

We look forward to seeing you there.
