Esna Technologies (News - Alert) (Esnatech), a provider of unified communications solutions for enterprises, is partnering with PhoneTag to deliver a voice-to-text transcription service for users of the Telephony Office-LinX Unified Communication Platform.
Formerly known as SimulScribe (News - Alert), PhoneTag is a provider of voicemail-to-text services and visual voicemail applications.
Esnatech’s officials said that that its company’s solution, the Telephony Office-LinX platform, provides the unification of telephony, mobility, messaging, and enterprise presence, enabling companies to change the way they communicate from latent inbox response to live communication.
By embedding technology services from PhoneTag, the platform will now allow users to read their voicemail and recorded conversations from e-mail and wireless e-mail devices.
Along with offering unified communication applications such as unified messaging
, fixed to mobile convergence, enterprise presence, instant messaging, SMS messaging, and more, the single platform now also offers automated voice-to-text transcription services.
The companies’ officials said that merging Esnatech application server
with functionality of PhoneTag’s speech-to-text services makes “Telephony Office-LinX the most complete platform in the industry today.”
“Adding the powerful and accurate PhoneTag voice-to-text services to our unified communications platform positions us again as a market and thought leader in this space,” said Davide Petramala, vice president of sales and marketing at Esnatech.
He also said that unified communications is much more then IP

This is as huge as it is a simple extension to the unified communications platform and works with an organizations existing phone system and email infrastructure.”
James Siminoff (News - Alert), founder and CEO of PhoneTag, said that PhoneTag’s voicemail-to-text service “fits perfectly with the high quality unified communication service” Esnatech already provides to a wide range of enterprises.
He also said that adding the PhoneTag services to the Telephony Office-LinX platform will extend visual messaging capabilities to their already robust unified messaging services that interoperate with GroupWare solutions such as, MS Exchange, IBM Lotus Domino, Novell (News - Alert) GroupWise and Google applications.
The companies said that the new speech-to-text services will be available as beta for all Esnatech customers starting June 2008. It will become a part of the Telephony Office-LinX version 7.1 service pack 1.
