Bahamian, Brazilian Operators Deploy Comverse InSight Open Services Environment

Sailing, boat building, world class bone fishing and of course turtle soup. These are just some of the things the Bahamas are known for. Starting now, you can add next-gen telecom services to the list of things that might be considered better, in the Bahamas.


Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC), the leading telecommunications service provider in the Bahamas for over a century, has deployed the Comverse (News - Alert) InSight Open Service Environment in addition to several other services expanding the offering for their fixed network subscribers.

InSight is Comverse’s carrier grade, open, IP-based service creation environment that is designed to meets the needs of carriers looking to deploy next-generation value-added services. Insight’s flexible architecture consists of several functional domains including back-end servers, applications, access, and OSS/BSS capabilities, supporting multiple services, and enabling operators to launch and deliver of a wide variety of communication, messaging and content services over IP, circuit-switched, hybrid and IMS networks.

Comverse also announced that Claro (News - Alert), a mobile provider (GSM) in Brazil and a wholly-owned subsidiary of America Movil, has also deployed the Comverse InSight Open Services Environment and Multimedia Messaging Center (MMSC). Comverse MMSC is designed to optimize user and operator experience for multimedia content in personal and application-related traffic.
