Australian Triple Play Provider AUSTAR Upgrades to Comverse Kenan FX Billing Solution

Australian triple play service provider AUSTAR has reportedly upgraded its billing system with the next-generation Comverse (News - Alert) Kenan FX Billing Solution.

AUSTAR has apparently been doing business with Comverse for some time, however a company press release does not specify which other Comverse solutions it has previously deployed. Needless to say, the real time billing platform operates seamlessly with Comverse’s other solutions covering content delivery, multimedia messaging, and call completion/call management.

Part of Comverse’s billing portfolio, Kenan FX enables operators to increase market agility and improve operational efficiency. The platform offers an advanced set of customer lifecycle management software solutions — from ordering and activation to charging and payments — and supports a range of communication services, including fixed, mobile and interactive. Coming in a modular framework for full flexibility, the solution is designed for the converging communications market.

Dean Walters, CIO of AUSTAR, said the solution “provides the most reliable support for our business and allows easy and timely launch of new services – a critical capability as we plan for the future.” He said the decision to start using the platform was based on the company’s past experiences dealing with Comverse, which have been positive. Furthermore, he said the platform gives AUSTAR the billing capabilities it needs, and will need as the business continues to grow. In addition he said he was pleased with the short time frame for implementation, and the support AUSTAR received from Comverse.
