Netcentrex VoIP Deployments Exceed 3 Million

By Johanne Torres, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Converged voice and video systems provider Netcentrex announced that its VoIP deployments have exceeded 3 million Class 5 lines in commercial service. The company integrates voice over broadband (VoBB) connectivity and triple-play service bundles. Netcentrex says customers are currently activating over 5,000 lines per day.

Netcentrex systems are used in large IP service deployments including Italian triple-play service provider Fastweb, which handles 10 million VoIP calls per day.

“IP communications and more particularly, triple-play are a driving force behind many of today's service provider strategies and deployments," said Netcentrex's chairman Olivier Hersent in a statement. “Service providers are looking to deploy compelling and cost-effective voice-video-data service bundles as part of a long term strategy to reduce customer churn, improve ARPU and reduce operational costs. Defining a realistic and profitable long-term business case is not simple. It requires knowledge of the markets, an understanding of the technologies and solutions capable of delivering high quality services with the capacity to migrate to full IMS, FMC and Quad Play services as the markets evolve.”

Netcentrex made news last month when it announced that it joined forces with French ASP provider Ornis to host ASP IP telephony services for small/medium size companies with 10 to 300 employees and large accounts.

Ornis serves more than 1000 companies with IT services and software on demand 24 x 7 in France. Through its partnership with Netcentrex, Ornis will be able to offer IP telephony services. It will also allow Ornis to develop indirect sales of IP telephony through partnerships with integrators, resellers, installers, and IT service companies.

“We are delighted that Netcentrex IP Centrex, VPN and IP trunking solutions are now available in an ASP mode in France,” said Antoine Groc, Netcentrex sales director for France in a statement. “With a nine year proven track record as an ASP in France, Ornis is the ideal partner to drive the introduction of Netcentrex' business solutions in France. Orni's expertise is to provide managed hosting of convergent solutions in a high quality environment in line with the most demanding enterprise requirements, including major accounts and operators.”
