White Castle enthusiasts in the Indianapolis region will be happy to know they can now receive mobile alerts through a new texting service. The service is free to users and will be run on a trial basis through March 31st.

"At White Castle, we're always looking for innovative ideas to stay connected with our customers," said Jamie Richardson (News - Alert), vice president of White Castle. "We found this interactive wireless program – Text2Crave – to be a natural fit with our Cravers since many of them carry mobile devices."

The Text2Crave service is a location-based mobile strategy that allows users to receive real-time updates on certain food locations around them. The program will be compatible with any phone that has text messaging functions and will include 39 participating restaurants within the Indianapolis region.

Getting yourself enrolled in this experimental service is both easy and beneficial. All a user has to do is text “CRAVE” to 25787 and the will instantly receive mobile alerts when they are within a five mile radius of any one of the participating White Castle restaurants.

The coupons sent out to customers will feature some of White Castles new menu items, mixed in with some of the old. Deals will include coupons for their new products, like the Angus Steak Chili and Brownie on a Stick, to familiar items like the Original Slider.

Any customer who enrolls will receive up to six alerts a month but will also receive two free Original Sliders upon enrollment. Opting out of the mobile alerts is as simple as enrolling, a participant has to simply texting “STOP” to the same number, 25787.

The Text2Crave program follows a similar service recently released by Roximity. Roximity released its app that syncs up wirelessly to a drivers vehicle, and automatically sends coupons to their mobile devices. Once a user drives by a business that is offering coupons, those coupons will be downloaded onto their smartphones wirelessly.
