Telecom Platform Deployment Faster, More Cost-Efficient with LEAD, NEI Says

By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor

(NEBS)

Keeping up with the complexity and growth of the 4G wireless and mobile Internet isn’t easy, especially in the telecom platform deployment field.

So say NEI (News - Alert) officials in a recent video. The problem is that many telecom platform deployment equipment manufacturers bear the cost and burden of developing and supporting a mix of technologies. In so doing, they lose precious time, divert valuable resources and deploy products that don’t really live up to expectations.

The main point of a telecom platform deployment, NEI officials say, should be to let the OEM stay focused on its core competency. To that end the company will conduct a no-pressure assessment of the integration of various firms, with a special eye on optimization and delivery processes.

As a result, company officials say, they developed the LEAD (Lifecycle Engine for Application Deployment) system to solve challenges involved in increasing the speed to market of applications. The system encompasses the entire lifecycle of the product, and is supported by a disciplined approach to program management.

Mavenir, a vendor of mobile infrastructure products for LTE (News - Alert) communications services for example, chose NEI’s frame-level Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture integration services and A13000 R2 platform to provide its customers with converged voice, video and messaging services on the Mavenir mOneConvergence Platform.

Moreover, NEI has the ability to apply its extensive domain and industry knowledge to solve design, integration and deployment problems from a single platform up to a complete frame of multi-vendor equipment, in addition to partnering with industry tech provider. The company also has a global managing and logistics footprint for delivering and supporting telecom equipment worldwide.

The idea behind the LEAD system is to get telecom platform deployment underway much faster and more cost-efficiently, allowing companies to focus their attention on crucial business operations.
