Telecom Platform Deployment: NEBS 2011 Conference and Everything Cloud

By Jamie Epstein, TMCnet Web Editor

Verizon (News - Alert) Communications will be holding its 17th annual NEBS Conference in Orlando, Fla., from Oct. 25 to 26. To be held at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort, NEBS 2011 will bring together industry thought leaders to show how service providers are seamlessly integrating cloud-based services directly into their networks, and utilizing cloud-based technologies that are helping to simultaneously increase revenue streams and reduce costs.

NEBS is a testing suite comprised of safety, spatial and environmental design guidelines that are applied to telecommunications equipment within the United States. NEBS is made up of three different levels of operability, and although it was initially introduced in the 1970s, the NEBS system remains extremely relevant in today’s market because of the highly reliable product it guarantees and produces, without a massive price tag (News - Alert) attached.

According to the company, AT&T and Verizon will work together to highlight the impact of a cloud architecture on their networks. Occurring over two days, this not-to-miss event will feature in-depth discussions about the growing trend of LTE (News - Alert) access technologies as well as the future of in-home networks.

Additionally, sessions will take place that discuss the importance of energy efficiency and network sustainability. Product pricing, performance and reliability will also be key issues addressed during the event.

Changes to Verizon’s energy efficiency and lead-free solder testing programs will be also be shown to attendees, noting what independent testing laboratories need to ramp up the time a product is introduced to the market.

Equipment suppliers, laboratory partners and product integrators are encouraged to take place in this event. If you are interested in attending, click here.
