The annual Telesoft Connections conference was held this week in Phoenix to teach organizations about telecom expense management (TEM) best practices, provide hands-on training to participants, and give business reps a chance to network with one another.
The conference was sponsored by Telesoft Corp., a provider of fixed and mobile telecom management software and services. The program took place at Hotel Palomar Phoenix Cityscape.
The program was highlighted by a keynote speech from Joe Basili, president of Network Trends Now. He spoke on “TEM…and Beyond – Critical Issues for Today and Tomorrow,” which included trends in the telecom industry, be it involving TEM, and emerging trends in enterprise mobility and unified communications. He also touched on enterprise mobility management (EMM), bring your own device (BYOD) programs, and the impact of cloud services on telecom expenses.
Thierry Zerbib, CEO and co-founder of Telesoft, said in a statement that, “By adding a longstanding industry veteran like Joe Basili to the speaking schedule, we’ve elevated the profile of this year’s event and it looks to be one of our best ever.”
Another key trend is seen with TEM from IBM’s (News - Alert) Emptoris Rivermine. It lets businesses lower their telecom costs by managing wireline and mobile communications lifecycles.
The company explains that TEM automates telecom processes, such as inventory management, procurement, order management, invoice processing, auditing, cost allocation, mobile expense, device management, and advanced business intelligence and reporting.
IBM’s Emptoris Rivermine (News - Alert) provides managed services so there is outsourcing of companies' critical TEM business processes as well. It leads to lower costs, management of corporate wireless costs and mobile devices, including BYOD, a holistic view of the telecom lifecycle, and optimization of networks for lower costs and better service, the company said.
