Breakaway Services, a major service provider and one of the top 10 expense management providers as ranked by AOTMP, has been purchased by Avema (News - Alert) Corporation. Breakaway, now a unit of Avema Corporation, will continue to offer its services in managing telecommunications services, assets and expenses for corporations from its Denver office.
In a release, Roger Yang, CEO of Avema said, “This acquisition of Breakaway further positions Avema as a premier telecom expense management (TEM) company. Our existing partnership with Breakaway has been very successful, with clients benefiting from the combined capabilities of our two organizations. I was impressed by Breakaway’s dedication to client service, and concluded that the company would be an ideal addition to Avema.”
Avema and Breakaway’s strategic relationship was formed in January 2012, wherein Avema’s Advanced Vendor Management or AVM system will be utilized to Breakaway to offer TEM to its customers. Breakaway will also be able to service more clients without additional resources with Avema’s assistance.
Voice, data, and wireless procedures and expenses can be administered with the infrastructure provided by AVM. Companies can now use any web browser to supervise expenses and inventory with AVM’s assistance, which incorporates all the telecommunications data in a single location.
Companies are made more efficient as AVM has introduced a single format for numerous vendors billing, thereby allowing users to supervise all telecom expenses from the same application. Clients now require lesser resources to achieve better control over their vendors, inventory and costs.
Shelley Cruikshank, CEO of Breakaway said, “Our partnership with Avema has allowed us to offer more advanced reporting and analysis, and better self-service functionality to our clients. Avema’s acquisition will enable us to more fully integrate our two companies, and draw on our shared TEM expertise.”
Avema’s operations in Denver will now be led by Cruikshank and Ric Reifel, chief sales officer for Breakaway Services.
Avema offers its expertise in telecom and wireless cost optimization. A major company in mobile device management implementation, Avema’s software and managed service are used by hundreds of companies like Suncor, RBC and Allergan.
