Lyrix and Loquendo Partner for Improved Speech Recognition

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

In a bid to further improve the functionality of their Mobiso service, Lyrix, a provider of speech-enabled collaboration solutions for large and distributed enterprises, has partnered with speech technologies provider Loquendo.

Lyrix’s speech-enhanced directories are used for Speech Attendants and Speech-assisted Mobile Address Books. The company’s PeopleFind platform also helps businesses with increasingly on the go workers to more efficiently communicate while also reducing costs.

As per the partnership, Loquendo’s (News - Alert) Speech Recognition (ASR) and Text-to-Speech (TTS) software will be included in Lyrix’s Mobiso solution for a better speech assisted directory and an overall improved user experience.

“Loquendo’s ASR and TTS technologies complement the Lyrix Mobiso solution by supporting large enterprise directories, and speaker independence with high accuracy and implementation flexibility,” said Stewart Hampton, Director of Sales & Marketing at Lyrix.

“Lyrix can work with multiple ASR technologies.  We have added support for Loquendo because we have found it to be a highly flexible and cost-effective quality speech engine.”

Mobiso is a hosted service in the cloud and runs on the PeopleFind directory and makes it possible for people to more easily connect with team members through top notch speech recognition assistance and safer navigation while they’re mobile.

Loquendo’s TTS and ASR software offerings are available in a number of languages and make it possible to have highly expressive and lifelike speech that is reliable in any environment.

“We are proud of this partnership and feel it is a great endorsement in such a fast paced market” said Rosanna Duce, Vice President International Sales at Loquendo.

“Lyrix is using speech to optimize the experience of their customers worldwide, enabling them to cut costs and maximize efficiency. This proves the business benefit of Loquendo technologies, and the value speech can bring to enterprises.”

Loquendo also announced this week that Cordic, a fleet management solutions provider, is automating their taxi booking service with Loquendo’s speech solutions.

Specifically, Cordic’s cPAQ taxi dispatch system will now include IVR capabilities so customers can book jobs and check on the progress of their bookings without needing to speak to an operator or staff member to get information.
