Loquendo Releases MRCP Server 7.1 for Windows and Linux

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

System integrators utilizing Loqunedo's MRCP Server to voice enable IVR systems now have a version of the server solution loaded with new features to improve results and make the process easier.

The new version, Loquendo (News - Alert) MRCP Server 7.1, is available for Microsoft Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2000 Server, and XP Professional, and for Linux Red Hat Enterprise 3.0, Red Hat Enterprise 5.1 and SuSE 10 SP2.

Also, the company notes the server supports the MRCP v1 and MRCP v2 standards.

Using the server helps integrators cut down on costs through automation and the use of a single port.

For system integrators needing to add multilingual ASR and TTS for large scale telephony apps like self service, contact centers or unified messaging, the offering makes it possible to further improve customer satisfaction with more natural and expressive speech.

New features included as part of the latest release include the ability to set vendor specific parameters like disabling background noise, or extending the time limit for recognized utterances, among others. Also, with the latest version, Loquendo has included support for ISO encoding and UTF 8 and has reduced grammar compilation time.

Other new features include:

--Alignment of the MRCPv2 profile with the latest IETF draft (MRCPv2, draft 17).
--Extended functionalities in the Management Console, which now indicates the number of licensed ports, the number of active sessions, ASR/TTS resources in use, their peak values, etc.
--Support for Language Modeling objects as ‘precompiled objects’ (LM ROs).
--Support for a default lexicon, defined via the Management Console, for TTS as well as ASR.

Back in July, the company announced another update to the MRCP Server Series 7 in response to many requests to build new tools.

The company also announced today a partnership to sponsor Masters and PhD Speech Studies for Spain's National Research Council (CSIC). Loquendo will provide students with a number activities to take part in throughout the duration of the course including a new specialized focus on Phonetics and Phonology, which is not a standard qualification among European Postgraduate studies.
