Loquendo Adds Danish Female Voice to TTS Family

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

Frida joins the family as the first voice available in the Danish language and helps the company to further position itself in the Scandinavian market.

With Danish, Finnish and Swedish voices now available, Loquendo (News - Alert) is helping application developers to give their partners and clients even more choices and achieve greater 'business agility' in these markets.

Loquendo TTS offers an emotional range of voices that are natural sounding and that makes it possible to create speech-based services for telephony, multimedia or embedded applications.

The company was awarded "Market Leader - Best Speech Engine" at the 2008 and 2007 Speech Industry Awards and recently announced  the latest version of Loquendo TTS, version 7.5 which includes a number of new features like support for Red Hat (News - Alert) Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5.1 and a number of new functionalities to improve prompt development.

With this latest voice, the company's TTS family now consists of 26 languages with 61 male and female voices and includes U.S. and U.K. English, Danish, Russian, German, Mexican, Castilian, Galician, Italian, and many more.

Recent editions to the family of TTS voices include Milla, a new female Finnish voice, Olga, a new female Russian voice and Steven, a new male voice offered in the American English language.
