It's been a busy week for Loquendo (News - Alert) with news ranging from award wins, to product enhancements and now, the speech technology provider is also announcing a collaboration with Archean Technologies, a public address system company, to place their Embedded TTS on board French public transport.
This latest announcement will allow Loquendo's technology to provide passengers on board French buses the ability to hear the name of upcoming stops and other relevant travel information.
To make this possible, Archean Technologies integrated Loquendo's speech synthesis technology into their Voice over IP and travel information solution.
"Archean Technologies' innovative and creative solutions bring huge improvements to the lives of people on the move," said Silvio Nasi, Loquendo Sales Manager for Embedded Technologies. "We are very pleased to have joined forces with them, and very proud that Loquendo TTS is helping so many people travel more efficiently and enjoyably."
Through the use of Loquendo TTS, visually impaired passengers can now also easily travel using French Metro as information found on displays is now read aloud.
"Our company particularly appreciates the quality and performance of Loquendo speech synthesis. We have integrated Loquendo TTS into our disperse Intelligent modules, which read out the text of travel information, that is displayed on buses, trains and in stations, directly to the user. We are pleased to have become a Loquendo partner and look forward to continuing to collaborate with them," said Xavier Aumont, President of Archean Technologies.
Just yesterday, Loquendo announced the release of version 7.5 of Loquendo TTS. The latest version includes a number of advancements like new features for Loquendo TTS Director including an extension of the Java API set and TTS engine enhancements to make it possible for Loquendo TTS Director to control all the new features.
