Loquendo (News - Alert) along with companies Valor Multimedia and EnGIS Technologies have announced the launch of Valor Multimedia’s latest in-dash navigation product. This product integrates EnGIS Technologies’ Gogo Navigation Software and Loquendo Text to Speech technology, according to company officials.

Valor Multimedia is a provider of mobile video products. The company’s newest 2 DIN AM/FM, CD/DVD, DDN-868W will come with comprehensive features. Also, it’s equipped with an easy to access menu via its 6.2” touch screen, said company officials.

Additional features will include hands free Bluetooth operation, SD, flash drive support, front/rear Aux-in, integrated Steering Wheel Control, and built in Navigation, according to company officials.

EnGIS Technologies is a software company that develops GPS satellite navigation software and Location Based Services (LBS). The company’s built in Turn-By-Turn navigation system supports the full map for North America including Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

Martin Carr, vice president at EnGIS Technologies, said that the company is working with Valor Multimedia, to bring Gogo Navigation Software to its latest in-dash product. “Our sophisticated navigation engine coupled with the know-how of Valor in multimedia and Loquendo’s TTS makes the DDN-868W a very compelling product.”

Company officials said that a rich feature set delivers multilingual voice guidance powered by Loquendo’s compact yet high-performing embedded text-to-speech (TTS), a 3 million points of interest (POI) database, Signpost and Lane Guidance, automatic rerouting plus many more features.

“Arising out of our partnership with EnGIS, with whom we’ve collaborated on a number of exciting projects, Valor Multimedia’s DDN-868W is another high quality product which Loquendo is proud to give voice to,” said Luisa Cordano, sales manager of embedded technologies at Loquendo.

Cordano said that the drivers will be able to benefit from an impressive range of advanced features, and enjoy improved road safety thanks to turn-by-turn directions read out in a wide choice of languages for a safe and relaxing drive.
