In a bid to expand further into the booming Chinese and Taiwanese markets, speech recognition and text to speech provider, Loquendo (News - Alert), introduced today the latest member to their family of TTS voices.
Lisheng, is a new female Mandarin Chinese voice, and is the second Chinese voice to join the family, following Linlin.This latest addition to the Loquendo family brings the total number of languages to 21, and the total number of voices to 54.
With the Chinese voice offerings, Loquendo is able to make its way into the large Mandarin-speaking communities within Singapore, Malaysia and others.
According to a news release, clients are now given a choice between two "superior quality" Mandarin voices, as refinements to Linlin's phonetic level were made. With the choices, companies can offer voices that best suit customer's needs.
Demand for TTS voices are in especially high demand in the automotive sector. Lisheng was developed in response to this need, to offer automotive products in a clear and quality Mandarin-speaking voice.
Lisheng also fully supports the X-SAMPA phonetic alphabet, as well as the SAMPA variants from TeleAtlas and Navteq
