Speech analytics software provider Nexidia (News - Alert) was quite the show-stopper at last week’s National Association of Broadcasters Conference in Las Vegas, as it took the stage to showcase the benefits of its dialogue search and audio analysis tools and helped one company to garner a major award for its Nexidia-powered technologies.
Atlanta-based Nexidia, a company known for delivering speedy, accurate and scalable solutions to help businesses uncover critical insights within audio data, took to its booth to show how content creators and distributors can reduce production costs, achieve accessibility requirements, and discoverer uncovered value in their properties, according to Rick Limpert, who covered the event.
During an informative and exhilarating presentation, Nexidia unveiled its unmatched abilities to unearth and play back spoken words and phrases within a whopping 100,000 hours of videos – in a matter of seconds, and without the need for transcripts or caption files. In doing so, its dialogue search and audio analysis tools are able to rapidly compare final audio files of a program to a transcript, script or caption file for the creation of master timing lists, insertion or correction of caption timings, identification of errors, and verification of language in audio and text files.
This especially appealed to the international broadcasters that made up much of the audience, as Nexidia demonstrated how its real-time verification abilities are able to pinpoint when the proper language is or isn’t being broadcasted, separate from metadata.
In addition, Nexidia showcased the ability of its audio comparison technology to accurately and rapidly find audio errors, such as sync loss, drift, substitutions, dropouts or distortion. These capabilities are particularly targeted at content owners who produce several versions of their content for international markets, media and online.
Video and audio production solutions provider Avid’s PhraseFind, a search engine powered by Nexidia that phonetically analyzes clips and indexes in a project’s media, took home the 2011 NAB Best of Show Vidy Award, which honors companies for outstanding achievement in the advancement of the art and science of video technology.
Tagged as “the coolest feature ever,” by a user of the software solution, Avid’s PhraseFind completely integrates directly into Avid editing software as an accessible plug-in to help instantly locate sound bites and easily find clips within a project, significantly reducing search time.
“The invitation to demonstrate our latest developments at NAB, in addition to being awarded the Best in Show Vidy award, reinforces that these technologies have real-world value throughout the production and distribution chain,” commented Drew Lanham, the senior vice president and general manager for media at Nexidia.
