GameSim Logs Q1 Licensing Uptick

GameSim has seen an uptick in software license revenue in the first quarter of 2015.

The company, which caters to the entertainment, modeling and simulation, and geospatial industries, said that it is seeing “a payoff” from years of internal research and development investment as the technology is now being commercialized and licensed to a broader array of customers.

In specific, it said that it logged several wins in Q1 for its Procedural Model Generation Service (PMGS) and Conform software. The U.S. Army SE Core program was the first customer for both, and it continues to use the products today, but the company is now starting to see fresh customer blood.

“We have been maintaining consistent growth in our service revenue. But this year, we are seeing our software product licensing revenue start to take off,” said Andrew Tosh, GameSim founder and president. “GameSim’s commitment to internal research and development, along with commercializing government funded projects, is paying off.”

PMGS, first launched in the first quarter of 2014, provides 3D models to external simulation systems without the need for a large hand-created art library. It generates 3D models on-demand, with a focus on generating distinct models for buildings, vehicles and life forms. It offers an infinite set of random models as a cloud service, via a REST interface, and can be used from Conform or integrated into other client applications.

Conform, a geospatial visualization tool, was launched in the first quarter of 2013. Users can import large amounts of geospatial data, including vectors, elevation, imagery, full-motion video and Lidar, in near real-time, to produce a fused representation of the synthetic environment. It offers a variety of functions, including an instantaneous 3D view of raw source data

GameSim said that it expects to continue its 2015 sales momentum, as it launches its first self-published video game later this year, Tiny Epic Kingdoms.
