Clustrix (News - Alert), a provider of SQL database solutions for the cloud, says ClustrixDB, its database solution designed to deliver real-time analytics on live operational data, is gaining traction with its new software licensing model.
The database solution has found strong uptake in fields such as e-commerce, ad tech and social media analytics in 2013. It is being used to support business critical applications and perform complex analytics in seconds. Customers who have already adopted the solution include TheWayHoldings, PeekAnalytics, Tracx, TinySpark and Taggle.
TheWayHoldings, an affiliate-tracking network that bridges the gap between advertisers and publishers, recently made the shift from MemSQL to ClustrixDB for its real-time analytics capability and continuous availability.
"We looked at several other solutions before selecting ClustrixDB," said Thomas Dietzel, founder and CEO of TheWayHoldings, in a statement. "Other solutions did not offer key analytics capabilities or did not achieve our high availability goals. With Clustrix, we didn't have to sacrifice any features or rewrite our application. It just worked."
In another significant deployment, Twoo.com, Europe's leading social discovery site with more than 30 million users, chose ClustrixDB to run complex analytics on ad hoc queries. The social discovery site now runs its entire application on ClustrixDB, supporting more than 4.4 billion complex user transactions a day and plans to increase the size of their installation by 40 percent.
"Our customers use ClustrixDB on over 1 trillion transactions a month to gain real time insights from their data," said Robin Purohit, CEO of Clustrix, in a statement. "ClustrixDB is the only distributed database that allows customers to perform real-time analytics on live operational data.”
The company is now poised to transform the distributed database market in 2014 and beyond, Purohit said. It will continue to develop faster software innovations as the needs of organizations expand and change.
Clustrix has also gained many third party recognitions in 2013 including ranking in Database Trends and Applications 100: The Companies that Matter Most in Data; listing in Database Trends and Applications 100: The Companies that Matter Most in Data; and listing in AlwaysOn Global 250 Top Private Companies. The company was also featured in the Gartner (News - Alert) Magic Quadrant for Operational DBMS.
