Gen-i Partnering with Flexera to Offer Software License Management in New Zealand

Gen-i has announced that it is partnering with Flexera to bring Flexnet Manager Suite to New Zealand.

Flexera’s Flexnet Management Suite will now be bundled with Gen-i’s own software License Assurance Services (LAS). The combined suite will be the first to allow Kiwi businesses to have complete control over their software licenses.

The growth in mobile and cloud devices, especially under BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) schemes, shows the need for solutions such as those from Gen-i and Flexera.

“The rapid surge in adoption of smartphones, tablets and cloud applications has created a significant asset management challenge,” Gen-i chief operating officer Jo Allison said. “There are few businesses that can confidently state that they know exactly what software is being used in their organization, how it is being used and whether or not they are legally entitled to use it.” 

Allison said that businesses invest a lot of money in enterprise software, and license management is a good way of ensuring a good return on investment by helping them avoid hefty penalties for non-licensed software. Businesses can also save money by only purchasing the licenses they need.

LAS helps businesses stay in compliance by automating license compliance tasks. The suite tracks the number of licenses in use versus the number of licenses the company has actually paid for, giving the customer an opportunity to reconcile the two if necessary.
